Can you lose 20 pounds, 2 weeks from now? I am sure this is a question many of us

have asked ourselves a few times. You can lose 20 pounds, but not in 2 weeks. It is also true that in 2 weeks from now you can lose quite a bit of weight. Magic, unfortunately is not possible, but with a little help you can lose 9 pounds in 11 days.

Burning fat takes time, but by manipulating your bodies fat burning hormones and by using a technique called calorie shifting, you can speed up the process.

Trying to lose too much weight in a short while, can actually slow down the fat burning process. When you eat too little, your body goes into “starvation” mode. When this happens, your metabolism slows down to preserve energy for vital body functions. This can cause serious problems and it will really make slimming down almost impossible. So, this is the first thing you have to keep in mind because it can really cause you serious problems later on.

The only way to slim down successfully is by following a sensible diet that will not trigger your body’s “starvation mode.” You have to fool your body that it thinks it is getting lots of food and does not have to preserve energy. If you do anything else you are setting yourself up for long term obesity problems. Do not do this to yourself.

Another problem with following a diet that lets you lose a lot of weight in a short while is that it is not really fat you’re losing, but mostly water. It is even possible that a lot of the weight you are losing is the loss of muscle and that you do not want at all costs! When you are slimming, muscle is your friend. Muscle burns more calories than fat and the fore muscle you have, the faster your metabolism will be.

This leads into the next important point. Moderate exercise! It is completely possible to lose weight without exercise, but moderate exercise will speed up the process considerable. So any diet that forbids exercise while you are on it should be left well alone. It does not have to encourage exercise; it must just not discourage it.

The key here is moderate exercise, especially if you are obese. Starting too fast can be dangerous to your health. A brisk walk for about 40 minutes 3 times a week is a good start. When you are a little fitter you can increase the exercise and even start doing some resistance training. This will build muscle and helps to speed up the whole process.
