Keeping to well balanced meal plans can be a very big problem during the vacation. There is temptation all around you and everyone seems to be eating just what they feel like. This can make it very hard to stick to well balanced meal plans and it can even make you feel a little sorry for yourself if do it.

So, you have to get your mind around this problem and motivate yourself to enjoy your vacation without throwing all the principles of well balanced meals plans out the window!

There are however, ways to watch what you eat on vacation and ways you can plan your meals so that they adhere to the principle of well balanced meal plans with a few “sins” in between.

On air planes it has become very easy to order low fat meals, so make sure you inform them about it when you make your reservations.  If you choose to drive by car instead the problem of finding healthy food can become more complicated.

Obviously this is also a very easy problem to over come if you are prepared to take a little trouble. You can pack food for the family and if you have one wide mouth Thermos Nissan you can pack tasty and healthy meals for each member of the family.

With a Thermos Nissan the meal can be cold or hot, as you prefer, and it will stay perfect for hours. Another possibility, of course is to use a cooler bag with ice packs and pack tasty fruit, healthy crackers, yogurt and sandwiches for the road.

Now all you have to do is find a nice spot to rest and have a healthy and tasty meal. In this way you can ensure that you are sticking to well balanced meal plans during your trip.

Once you arrive at your hotel, you should do yourself a favor and do not accept the mini-bar key – this helps you to avoid the temptations all stored in that mini-bar!  If your hotel offers a continental breakfast, stick to fruits, cereals, and proteins.  If your hotel has a stove or microwave, consider bringing your own healthy food with you.

If you simply must eat out, do so only when you are hungry.  Restaurants will usually serve large portions, so be careful.  If you do go a bit over on a meal, simply cut back on the next.

If you find it hard to fit in three square meals a day, try to fit in six smaller meals or snacks, as your body needs fuel every four hours or so. When you eat out, avoid appetizers. Make a point of making healthy food choices an integral part of your vacation.

Whatever you do, do not miss any meals. Plan your day and consider where you are going to eat. In this way you will know how to choose your food and this will help you to keep to well balanced meal plans as you can plan ahead what you are going to eat.

If at all possible, you should avoid eating large meals at night.  When your body gets ready for sleep and slows down, it also burns calories at a much slower pace.  Never eat bread before bed, and make sure to avoid the butter.

Choose fish or poultry for your meal instead, and include vegetables as a side dish. When ordering a salad, remember to ask for the dressing on the side so that you can control the amount of dressing on your salad. You will find that in many restaurants the salad is almost floating in the dressing!

Even though it may sound hard, keeping to well balanced meal plans while you are on vacation isn’t really that difficult.  All you have to do is use a little will power, and pass up foods that you know aren’t good for you.  This way, you’ll enjoy healthy eating and a healthy lifestyle wherever you go.

So, while planning your vacation you must also plan for well balanced meal plans. Make sure you plan where you are going to eat and make sure that healthy food choices will be available.

The little extra trouble you have to take with the planning of your vacation to include well balanced meal plans will be well worth it. We all know that horrible, bloated and FAT feeling we so often have when we return from our vacation!
